It introduces clarity and inspiration, perfect for an office space or rooms that will be utilized for long periods of time. The jewel-toned emerald color is universally appealing. To name a few, it’s used in home goods, to fashion, to automotive, to technology products.
I love “Color” so I’m excited about this Emerald green for next year’s 2013 {COLOR OF THE YEAR}

How to decorate a room using a bold color?
Tip: Start with an inspiration, it could be from an art piece, a rug, or even your favorite dress or shirt. Pick three colors [max] from your inspiration and build upon that to achieve a cohesive, simple and balanced look in your room scheme. Once you feel confident add more colors sparingly around your room using accessories etc. If you are not so savvy in choosing your paint colors, try using Benjamin Moore® They have loads of design ideas from decorative paints to how to choose the right color.

Home Furnishings and Decor Color Board In Turquoise
I’m loving all the turquoise I’m seeing in home decor lately, a fave of mine. I created the board below to capture an idea, not literally to use all of these items together in a space, the look would be to monotonous. Plus the eye needs to rest between bright and bold hues. What accent color to use? Look closer, the accent colors are there in the art, pillow, fabric and lighting. Chartreuse would be the second color and navy as third with black to ground the colors.
Chip it! Sherwin-Williams® has an online tool that allows you to capture an image and match the colors in it with their paint colors. Pretty cool, Yes?
