Pantone Color 2012 of the Year

Earlier this week Pantone announced “Tangerine Tango as Color Of The Year for 2012. I love this color! It’s sophisticated with a flirty edge to it, hence the “Tango” name. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. Did I say I love this color? !!!

Blues and greens are great colors that compliment tangerine tango, they also cool down the intensity of deep vivid oranges.

This bold color is great for interior spaces that need that boost of energy, especially those rooms that don’t receive direct sunlight. Simple ways to add high impact with low cost results is always with paint like in these photos:

Brown and beige are warm colors which intensify the oranges. To cool down use whites and grays like in this room.
Do you like oranges? Would you use them in your home decor?
