Paint Colors by Chip it!® Sherwin-Williams®

What a crazy winter weather up north, hope everyone is warm and safe in their homes with loved ones.  Speaking of love, I painted a quick watercolor study sketch of a room that caught my eye on Instagram.  Turns out it was of Megan Hess.  Megan is well-known fashion illustrator from Australia.  Her illustrations are so beautiful!! Here’s the link to her portfolio.  Her beautiful bedroom has gorgeous white draperies, Ralph Lauren black and white stripe wall paper, and a sumptuous cozy chair. Love this room!!

Who knew this was her room? Not me, this is why is so important to post the names of designers, and creatives of their work when it’s shared in social media.  I know I have the same fault, but it’s never to late to start, right?

More interior rendering and sketches to come!

Project Baby Girl Hand Painted Mural

Pink Flowers Tree Hand Painted Mural

Hello friends,

If you would like hand painted mural in your baby’s nursery give me a call, or send me an email.

A rose is a rose? And a Watercolor Rose gif

A rose is a rose? And a Watercolor Rose gif

Today is Worldwide Sketch crawl day! In honor of this event, I decided to draw a single rose in red. I sketched this single rose yesterday and added watercolor in reds and pinks. I then added them to a gif app, which is so easy to do, just add your images. Boom there you go!
I hope you enjoy your Saturday and weekend! Happy sketching friends and thanks for stopping by…

The May Fair Hotel London

this + that

While searching for pretty storage boxes, (in the cabaret hue) I came across this round lacquered box from the container store, cute right?  It would go nicely with a room scheme like that (gorgeous, beautiful, amazing and oh so glamorous) one  from the May Fair Hotel in London.  The hotel suite has beautiful velvet like wall-coverings in a vivid pink rose hue, ornate (rococo style) headboard trim in gold inset with luxurious black fabric (or leather) sumptuous bedding and linens, to die for bench, and black oriental style side tables, I’d say fit for a queen. I’m inspired!  You? My luggage is packed and ready! ;)

Beautiful Closets

I have been thinking about re-doing my closet, it seems it’s never big enough, especially if you’re a fashionista, right? Some builders have a good sense of what a woman’s preference is “Big is never enough” and some, well, they don’t get it!!

I came across these images today while researching for closets design ideas.  These are so fabulous I thought I’d share with you . . .

Fabulous in black “Closet Dressing Room”

Decor tip: use decorative mirrors instead of plain ones for a more designer look.

I love this white closet, elegant but not too fussy, except I would choose a crystal chandelier.  ;)

Now this is a fun space in pink and cream with some sparkle!

Hello space!

What a beautiful white closet with marble floors and plenty of mirrors to check yourself out as you walk out the door!

Decor Tip: When designing your closets, add mirrors. It not only serves a functional purpose, but also adds visual space, making it appear bigger.

This was a fun post, I hope you enjoyed this closet tour.  Check back next week for decor tips.  Happy Saturday!

This room was revamped in a pink palette to raise awareness of breast cancer and also to benefit the fight for a cure.  -Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Love this room in deep pink hue (rose color).  White molding breaks up the intensity while adding contrast for visual impact.  Also, it’s girly but in a grown up way.

How great does this bombe chest look in pink!

Fashion

“For Spring 2012 , I was inspired by a romantic kind of nonchalance-an effortless glamour that is always timeless.” -Ralph Lauren

Romantic and feminine and oh so glamorous is evident in this collection.  From the daytime wear to the beautifully stunning evening gowns in white, pastel hues and shimmering fabrics to the hand-sewn porcelain and sparkly bead work, these pieces evoke the 1920s sophisticated Art Deco style.  Another gorgeous collection from Ralph Lauren that is totally breathtaking! There are many ways to draw inspiration for your home decorating, one of them is fashion. It could be from your favorite pair of jeans, a sexy dress to a business suit.  Begin with a mood board. What is a mood board?  (sample here).  Start by collecting pics that interest you and favorite colors as a starting point to your projects.  This way you stay focused on your goal.
