My Decorating tips:
For creating a successful design for your house decorating you should always start with a plan. An inspiration board or decor board like the ones I designed in this post, is a great start. Using a inspiration board will help you get your creative juices flowing and ideas for your dream space.
What to include in your decor board:
Select main furniture pieces needed ex. sofa, dinning set, bed.
Select decor items for inspiration. Ex art, fabric, sculptures, ect.
Spaceplan layout for furnishings (optional)

What a crazy winter weather up north, hope everyone is warm and safe in their homes with loved ones. Speaking of love, I painted a quick watercolor study sketch of a room that caught my eye on Instagram. Turns out it was of Megan Hess. Megan is well-known fashion illustrator from Australia. Her illustrations are so beautiful!! Here’s the link to her portfolio. Her beautiful bedroom has gorgeous white draperies, Ralph Lauren black and white stripe wall paper, and a sumptuous cozy chair. Love this room!!
Who knew this was her room? Not me, this is why is so important to post the names of designers, and creatives of their work when it’s shared in social media. I know I have the same fault, but it’s never to late to start, right?
Interior Decorating with Zebra Prints and Neutral Hues
Traditional Meets Contemporary Styles
While researching for “Get the Look” post last week, I came across this beautiful room. The look is traditional but with contemporary lines. Although this room has more zebra prints that I would use, it works because of the mix in furniture styles and decor which are not ornate. Example, the simple lines and juxtaposition of the traditional chandelier works well with the more contemporary L shaped sofa. If you would like to decorate your home using this look, remember to start with two style periods, that are similar in lines and color hues. Color is on of the least expensive and fastest way to change the look of a space. Here, the deep golden taupe on these walls pops against the gold sunburst mirror which adds visual interest and sparkle.
In this design board I used Benjamin Moore paint color HC-23. And then, I also used Chip it! by Sherwin-Williams on the right.
