Inspiring House Decor Ideas by White Linen Interiors

This post was first published by White Linen Interiors on September 7, 2016.

My Decorating tips:

For creating a successful design for your house decorating you should always start with a plan. An inspiration board or decor board like the ones I designed  in this post, is a great start.  Using a inspiration board will help you get your creative juices flowing and ideas for your dream space.
What to include in your decor board:

  1. Color Scheme
  2. Inspiration photo
  3. Select main furniture pieces needed ex. sofa, dinning set, bed.
  4. Select decor items for inspiration. Ex art, fabric, sculptures, ect.
  5. Spaceplan layout for furnishings (optional)

If you don’t feel that you are able to decorate you house or  where to start, I offer online decorating services set in three packages to choose from. For more details visit my Online Decorating Services page. Or if you would like you can follow me on Social Media outlets my handles are the following:

What a crazy winter weather up north, hope everyone is warm and safe in their homes with loved ones.  Speaking of love, I painted a quick watercolor study sketch of a room that caught my eye on Instagram.  Turns out it was of Megan Hess.  Megan is well-known fashion illustrator from Australia.  Her illustrations are so beautiful!! Here’s the link to her portfolio.  Her beautiful bedroom has gorgeous white draperies, Ralph Lauren black and white stripe wall paper, and a sumptuous cozy chair. Love this room!!

Who knew this was her room? Not me, this is why is so important to post the names of designers, and creatives of their work when it’s shared in social media.  I know I have the same fault, but it’s never to late to start, right?

More interior rendering and sketches to come!

Project Baby Girl Hand Painted Mural

Pink Flowers Tree Hand Painted Mural

Hello friends,

I was commissioned several weeks ago to paint a pink blossom mural for a baby girl nursery.  The mommy to be “Loves Pink” and wanted a wall mural of a spring like feeling in the space.  So, a pink blossom tree was the perfect idea.  She was so happy with the final result.  It so satisfying when I am able to deliver the clients vision into fruition. Here is a “sneak peek” of the room.  More pictures coming later this week.

If you would like hand painted mural in your baby’s nursery give me a call, or send me an email.

PS:  I’ve been busy with my new venture in watercolor painting, that I have ignored the blog post.  To stay updated with my projects, please stop by my instagram feed and follow along, I find that it’s easier to post images on the fly.

The May Fair Hotel London

this + that

While searching for pretty storage boxes, (in the cabaret hue) I came across this round lacquered box from the container store, cute right?  It would go nicely with a room scheme like that (gorgeous, beautiful, amazing and oh so glamorous) one  from the May Fair Hotel in London.  The hotel suite has beautiful velvet like wall-coverings in a vivid pink rose hue, ornate (rococo style) headboard trim in gold inset with luxurious black fabric (or leather) sumptuous bedding and linens, to die for bench, and black oriental style side tables, I’d say fit for a queen. I’m inspired!  You? My luggage is packed and ready!😉
